[God's Providence] 7. What is the spring of the water of life?
7. What
is the spring of the water of life?
Last
time, we discussed how Jesus is one of our Creators. This time, let's see what
was changed with Jesus' sacrifice.
With the
sacrifice of Jesus, a fountain of the water of life that will wash away our
sins was created. (Zechariah 12:10, 13:1)
And Jesus
promised to give the living water to his believers. (John 7:38)
Then, did
Jesus ever give the living water to His believers after he went to heaven?
No, he
didn't. So, for 2,000 years, no Christian has known what the living water is.
In the
book of Revelation, however, there is a promise from God that the living water
will be inherited by him who overcomes. (Revelation 21:6-7)
In other
words, God will entrust the living water to him who overcomes so that he can
wash away the sins of others.
God
waited 2,000 years from Abraham's time to make this living water and the Son
of God had to come to this world in the flesh 2,000 years ago and die on the
cross.
Will God
give this precious thing to just anyone? He cannot.
Those who
have been washed away by the living water will become the special ones to God.
In the
book of Revelation, there are those who have been washed with the blood of
Jesus in the world of God. (Revelation 5:9, 7:14)
These are
the chosen ones from the martyrs. (Revelation 6:9)
Among
them, those who were martyred in keeping the word of God are saints in the Old
Testament, and those who received the testimony are saints in the New
Testament.
The
testimony they received refers to the Holy Spirit. (Revelation 19:10)
In the
Old Testament time, there was no living water to wash away sins, so even God's
chosen saints were in Hades.
After
Jesus' resurrection, they came out of the tombs and entered the Holy City. (Matthew 27:52-53)
The tomb
is the symbol of Hades, and the Holy City Jerusalem is the symbol of New
Jerusalem in heaven. (Revelation 21:2)
Those who
have been washed by the blood of Jesus are soldiers of heaven, and God must
destroy the Devil with them so that others can be saved from the Devil.
After the
Devil's destruction, the soldiers of heaven will receive the authority to
judge. Most of them are martyrs. (Revelation 20:4)
And they
become kings over all those who are saved after judgment. (Revelation 5:10, 22:5)
They also
become priests who serve God forever. (Revelation 5:10, 22:3)
Therefore,
in order to destroy the Devil and create a new world, heavenly soldiers must be
made.
The
number of the soldiers is not yet completed. Jesus is waiting for that number
to be completed. (Revelation 6:11)
The one
on earth who should complete this number is the overcomer who inherits the
spring water of life.
He who
overcomes must cleanse the sins of his followers with the living water, teach
them to qualify as heavenly soldiers, and complete the number.
This
time, I told you that the spring of the living water was made to wash our sins
by Jesus' sacrifice and that we need someone to inherit the water to complete
the number of soldiers in heaven. Next time, let's see how many armies there are.
